The Guest Speaker will be Chris Piper, Agent for the Bank of England Agency for Central Southern England. The Central Southern Agency covers a territory which stretches from East Sussex to Hampshire and includes Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Dorset and West Sussex. Its primary role is to assess economic conditions affecting businesses in the area to inform monetary policy.
Chris will present the Bank’s outlook for growth and prospects for inflation in the UK economy as published in the most recent Inflation Report. The talk will cover the most likely main influences around the outlook and the opportunities, challenges and risks that the UK faces coming out of the recession.
