Derek Godfrey
Derek Godfrey is the Managing Director of Ellis Building Contractors Ltd. With a background originally in mechanical engineering design, he joined Ellis in 1990 and took over the business in 1996.
Under his stewardship the company has grown steadily and is now the largest construction company of its type in the Eastbourne area.
Never shy to challenge convention, Derek is qualified to degree level in construction management, an Incorporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.
Derek has attracted a highly skilled and experienced team to Ellis and has also established the business as the only construction company in the area to hold Chartered Institute of Building status. At the 2008 Business Awards Ellis won a host of awards including Manufacturing and Construction Company of the Year.
Derek lives in Eastbourne with his partner Mal. He is a busy Dad and family man and when time allows, a keen golfer too!
